Celebrating 20 years of Innovation
Skytek’s journey took flight in Ireland, where our first mission was to craft instruction manuals for astronauts’ tools that would guide them through the complexities of space. What began as documentation soon evolved into innovation, culminating in the creation of the International Procedural Viewer: a mission-critical system now used by every astronaut aboard the International Space Station, and soon to be deployed on NASA’s lunar Gateway.
But our ambitions weren’t just bound by orbit.
Back on Earth, we turned our gaze to the insurance industry, blending real-time satellite imagery with cutting-edge data analytics. The result? A transformative approach to risk assessment, underwriting, and claims handling, whether it’s marine, property, energy or cybersecurity, we’re redefining what’s possible with space-powered insights.
Two decades on, Skytek isn’t just celebrating longevity; we’re marking a launchpad for the future. The Skytek system is important to the Columbus module for three fundamental reasons. ICHEC is working with Irish technology company Skytek to provide an archive for the European Space Agency for Sentinel and other data. A portal will provide archived products, real-time data and on-demand processing for the public sector and commercial users in Ireland.
