Skytek presents the E-Collaboration for Earth Observation (eCEO) project at the Space Engineering and Technology Final Presentation Days held in ESA’s ESTEC facility
The Space Engineering and Technology Final Presentation Days are events for European Industry and ESA technical experts to showcase their work in developing advanced technology for Space missions. It consisted of oral and poster presentations delivered by European industry, Academia and ESA technical experts highlighting the recently completed technology contracts and the achievements made within the ESA technology programme.
Skytek was invited to present their ESA/ESRIN eCEO project results at the latest Presentation day held in the ESA ESTEC facility in November 2017. Paul Kiernan, CTO of Skytek gave a conference talk on the E-Collaboration for Earth Observation (eCEO) project concept, technology and results at the conference.
ESA had identified that an impediment to the exploitation of Earth Observation are the current resource and time intensive nature for, data mining, Information extraction and the huge increase in EO data processing with the launch of Sentinel missions.
The eCEO system provides EO scientists with cloud computing resources in an easy to manage and flexibly to deploy mechanism. The developed platform can be used by members of the space community to investigate problems in a “parallel way/contest” to enhance the approach to research towards the best solution.
